Highways' a/o/x series: MARYSAN - “El Camino a Casa”
    May 02, 2025, 8:00 PM
Highways, 1651 18th St, Santa Monica, CA 90404, USA
As part of Highways' annual a/o/x series (formerly Latinx New Works), "El Camino a Casa" by MARYSAN is a bold, intimate duet where two Latine artists unpack family, perception, and the messy in-between of being “not enough” and “too much.” This is dance as a homecoming—raw, real, and rooted.
  • Highways' a/o/x series: Angélica Maria - The Feminine Mystique
Highways' a/o/x series: Angélica Maria - The Feminine Mystique
    May 03, 2025, 8:00 PM
Santa Monica, 1651 18th St, Santa Monica, CA 90404, USA
As part of Highways' annual a/o/x series (formerly Latinx New Works), this ritual of poetry, music, and fire unleashes the sacred power of Latina and Chicana storytellers. Channeling icons like Maria Sabina and Pat Mora, it smashes stereotypes and conjures a fierce, multidimensional feminine divine.

“True West” for the terminally online. A dark comedy steeped in gallows humor about the grim task of sorting through an incel’s shrine. No self-help in 4 a.m. Incognito tabs. Touch grass while you still can.

    May 09, 2025, 8:00 PM
Highways, 1651 18th St, Santa Monica, CA 90404, USA
In this visceral solo performance, Paul Donald navigates stark wooden structures, unraveling the contradictions of masculinity through raw, physical struggle, restless movement, and fleeting gestures. "In Grain" offers no triumph, only an uneasy encounter with the limits of action and identity.

    May 10, 2025, 8:30 PM
Highways, 1651 18th St, Santa Monica, CA 90404, USA
Obsidienne Obsurd makes a glam-futurist descent into gorgeous decay—where drag, sound, and poetry collide in a spectacle that turns collapse into high art. In this seductive slow-motion apocalypse, the end isn’t feared—it’s fiercely, fabulously embraced.

Visceral + cinematic, this double bill from choreographer Guan digs into the Chinese diaspora through movement, memory & myth. A solo lights up a translucent cube with poetry from Angel Island; the other rides rails across continents as an ensemble dances through dislocation and generational echoes
