About The Event

Varietals, Blends, and Flashbacks is an evening length work of contemporary dance theatre that takes a playful look at aging and what it means to get older in a society that increasingly values youth.  The world we live in seems to be more and more focused on beauty, ephemera, and self-expression that can be shared in seconds long downloads.

Is there still space for those who take their time, develop ideas and artistry, value live interaction, and don’t care about likes?

Framed through the lens of the aging process of grapes, vinification, and the time and experience required to take something delightfully simple and make it complex and amazing, Varietals, Blends, and Flashbacks is a wine tasting experience that is part retrospective, part introspective, and part futurespective.

Presented by a multigenerational cast (including Diana Dee Delcambre, Lisa Gillespie, Nicholas Heitzeberg, Amy Nelson Frelinger, Laura Ann Smyth, Jude Clark Warnisher) Varietals, Blends, and Flashbacks reminds us to think about our past, present, and future, and to respect and value those who came before us, and to be excited about where we are on our own journey, and to work for something better on behalf of those yet to come.
