Michael Kearns - WRITE: Let's Talk About Sex

WRITE: Let’s Talk About Sex is an intensive workshop led by esteemed writer and performance artist Michael Kearns exploring desire, shame, fantasy, intimacy, and fearless self-expression through writing. Across a day of prompts, discussion, and embodied exercises, participants are invited to break down inhibitions, access the body while writing, and move toward language that is bold, personal, vulnerable, and alive.

Beginning his career during the height of the Sexual Revolution, Kearns has spent more than five decades confronting sexuality in his work with candor, sensuality, humor, and political urgency. Even during the AIDS crisis—when queer sexuality was increasingly muted in public discourse—his writing and performance remained unapologetically intimate and deeply human.

A celebrated theater artist, actor, teacher, and author, Kearns has taught writing and acting for over forty years, cultivating spaces rooted in empathy, rigor, compassion, and creative risk-taking. Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably, bring something to write with, and arrive ready to challenge fear, embarrassment, and self-censorship.
