About The Event

An afternoon of film, conversation, and community centered around the remarkable true story of Antwone Fisher. Directed by Denzel Washington and starring Derek Luke, Antwone Fisher follows a young Navy sailor struggling with anger, trauma, and the lasting scars of a brutal childhood in foster care. After being referred to a naval psychiatrist, Antwone begins the difficult process of confronting his past and reclaiming his sense of self.

Following the screening, audiences are invited to a special discussion with Antwone Fisher reflecting on the true experiences behind the film, resilience, healing, and the ongoing realities facing foster youth today.
