About The Event

Hoping to find a cure to his sickness, "The Professor" follows Agatha on a strange and risky journey into a forgotten but not entirely deserted urban wasteland. The passing of time and the disintegration of nature, institutions, and people all set the tone for this mysterious and unsettling animated/live-action meditation on guilt, regret, terror, and its consequences.

Co-Director Roland Becerra grew up in Miami’s “Little Havana”, where he witnessed the process of recreating Cuban culture in a new homeland through stories, art, and music. His first animated short “Dear Beautiful” premiered at Sundance in 2009.

Co-Director Kelly Bigelow spent her early years performing in local plays in a small town in Michigan. Finding her true passion in making art and telling stories, she went on to become an award-winning visual artist, filmmaker, and graphic designer. Her short “Dear Beautiful” premiered at Sundance and she continues writing and directing other short film projects.
