In response to the growing tradition of huge-scale productions of Handel's best-known work, Sir Thomas Beecham noted a "rapid and violent reaction against monumental performances ... an appeal from several quarters that Handel should be played and heard as in the days between 1700 and 1750".

About The Event
The 3rd "Annual" WINE & CHEESE MESSIAH
Five of us will perform our favorite parts of Handel's Messiah while sharing wine and cheese with you! Please do come join us for this intimate, unique holiday tradition.

Sliding scale: $1-$1000 donation at the door
BYO picnic like you're going to the Hollywood Bowl! Concessions will also be available for purchase.
Doors: 7pm Music: 8-10pm with 2 generous intermissions Event over by 11pm
We'll perform our favorite choruses, recits, and arias. Come enjoy a respite from holiday madness in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The space has theater seating, but you are also welcome to get even closer to the performance by bringing picnic blankets, cushions, bean bags, etc. to picnic on the theater floor.
