About The Event
Curated by acclaimed choreographer Bernard Brown, six regional artists work with complex ideas around aspects of identity, stemming from self while encompassing their communities. Honoring multiple lineages and forms, these artists present dance performances that are rooted in rhythm, moving in the footsteps of ancestral technologies towards a future that brings Blackness, Indigeneity, and Queerness squarely to the center of our consciousness. Featuring new works by Du’Ron Fisher (Defacto X), Edgar Aguirre, Mawiyah Dowd, Marcella Lewis, Tashara Gavin-Moorehead, and Tsiambwom “T” Akuchu.
