MADE IN BRASIL: Solo Works

As part of Highways’ BEHOLD! A/O/X Series, a new wave of Brazilian artists steps forward with work that refuses to stay in one lane. Across two nights, performers including Leopold Nunan, Bruna Fachetti, Bia Borin, and Renato Fimene bring a mix of monologue, movement, music, and multimedia into sharp, contemporary focus—blurring the line between theatre, performance art, and personal testimony. The pieces move through digital myth, migration, fractured identity, and pop iconography, building a collective portrait of what it means to create, survive, and be seen far from home.

What emerges isn’t a tidy showcase but a shared presence. A techno-creature searching for itself inside a collapsing system. A woman rewriting her life across continents. A star split between myth and memory. An immigrant artist measuring the distance between who he was and who he’s becoming. Guided by multidisciplinary artist Andrea Ferraz and shaped under the artistic vision of acclaimed director Bia Oliveira, the evening threads these works together into something fluid, intimate, and alive.

This is a space carved out in real time—one where Brazilian voices in Los Angeles take up room with humor, vulnerability, and clarity. Not a summary, not a sample, but a statement.
