About The Event
Jade Lelievre’s new dance work traces how the body holds experience—personal history, inherited patterns, and learned ways of surviving—and how these strategies quietly settle into identity over time.
Each dancer moves through a distinct state of adaptation and endurance. These states overlap, fracture, and recur, exposing survival as both a means of protection and a subtle form of limitation.
Rather than telling a story, the work offers a shared space of attention. Meaning arises through proximity, repetition, and presence, inviting the audience to remain with what unfolds.
THE ARTISTS:

Jade Lelievre is a French-born dancer and choreographer based in Los Angeles. Her work is shaped by a dialogue between European rigor and the experimental openness of the Southern California dance landscape, exploring resilience, identity, and transformation through physical precision and emotional clarity. She approaches choreography as a space for connection, allowing subtle inner states to surface through movement and speak beyond language.

Louis Nova is a composer and musician whose work moves fluidly between acoustic instruments and electronic sound. Guided by experimentation and atmosphere rather than genre, his music creates immersive environments that support movement and emotional resonance. After Ashes marks an ongoing collaboration with choreographer Jade Lelievre, rooted in shared exploration and dialogue.
